ULI Sacramento’s DEI Task Force Invites You to a conversation about Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Real Estate: Best Practices for Creating and Retaining Diverse Industry

While the topic of diversity, equity and inclusion isn’t new, 2020 encouraged many companies to truly (authentically) examine their Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) practices. Many organizations, including ULI, began to take stock of their own commitment to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. Almost two years later, companies continue to advance DE&I initiatives, though we still have a long way to go.

This virtual program aims to highlight the progress we have made while equipping industry leaders and advocates with best practices to advance DE&I in real estate and land use professions.

Garland Fuller, podcast host and Sr. Diversity Recruiter with CBRE, will discuss her expertise of DEI in the commercial real estate industry and provide guidance on recruitment and retention in order to create a more diverse workforce. Garland is based out of Los Angeles and has 8 years’ experience within the commercial real estate industry and over 15 years' experience within talent acquisition. An extraordinary talent connector, diversity champion, and leadership business partner, her mission is to solve problems by increasing the number of seats at the table and by broadening the makeup of the people who occupy those seats.

Garland is the creator and host of “Full Circle with Garland,” a weekly podcast where she dives into conversations with diverse entrepreneurs, executives and thought leaders who share her interest in greater social impact, true inclusion, and sustainable wealth building. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in American Studies and a MS In HR Development. Lastly, she’s on the board of African American Real Estate Professional Los Angeles (AAREP LA), the advisory board for Real Estate Association of Latinx professional (REAL) and an active member of ULI Los Angeles Urban Plan committee.
