Achieving California’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Goals: Recap on January Think Tank
February 2, 2015
Allison Jose, Deputy Director at California’s Strategic Growth Council, was our keynote speaker at the Members January Think Tank session with a focus on “Cap and Trade – Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund Programs for 2015.” The State Budget appropriated $830 million in 2014-15 for reduction of greenhouse gases through: Cleaner Transportation and Sustainable Development; Energy Efficiency and Clean Energy, Natural Resource and Solid Waste diversion. Strategic investment of these proceeds furthers the goals of AB 32 by reducing GHG emissions, providing net GHG sequestration, and supporting the long-term, transformative efforts needed to improve public and environmental health and develop a clean energy economy. Slides from the presentation can be downloaded at the link below. Upcoming workshops were announced in February to learn more about the funding. Closest to Sacramento is on February 10 in Stockton.
