ULI Member Design Firm Takes Top State Honor
October 8, 2012
Dreyfuss & Blackford Architects was recently singled out as the state’s best by the California jurors in the annual American Institute of Architect’s awards contest. For the first time in at least 32 years, California jurors picked a Sacramento firm over an LA or San Francisco firm. Dreyfuss & Blackford is one of Sacramento’s oldest and biggest architectural practices which opened its doors 62 years ago. The firm was chosen for the honor for its body of work as well as its contributions to the field in general including leadership roles in events like the recent Capitol Mall Design competition. One of its high profile projects in our region is the Cal-ISO headquarters in Folsom, which won top honors from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Join Dreyfuss & Blackford, along with our region’s architectural firms for the Central Valley Region Achitecture Festival from Oct 12 – 28 with several events taking place including lectures, movie screenings, bicycle and walking tours, as well as open house nights at several area firms. The AIA Central Valley opening party for the festival is being held on October 12 @ 5:00 pm at HOT Italian. For more information on the festival, go to aiacv.org.
