Two Local Leaders who Mean Business

ULI Sacramento’s WLI – Women’s Leadership Initiative held a lunchtime program with special guests Sacramento County Supervisor Susan Peters and Roseville Vice Mayor Bonnie Gore.  These local leaders have 18 combined years in local office within the Sacramento Region. The conversation, moderated by Bonnie Chiu, co-chair, ULI WLI, centered around issues that are priority in their respective jurisdictions from Housing, Homelessness, Infrastructure and Retail box re-purposing.
While women make up more than half the U.S. adult population, gains have been made (especially in California, where we have sent more women to Congress than any other state, Pew Research Center 2017), and progress continues to be made with more and more females running for office for the first time-but we still have a long way to go to on female representation in government offices, from Congress to local offices.
