Drought and Land Use Program held in March: A Regional Threat

ULI Sacramento held a “Drought and Land Use Program” on March 11. Preparing for a future that consists of more frequent and longer term droughts is essential to preserving the Sacramento region’s economic vitality, the health of the American and Sacramento Rivers and our quality of life. Moderated by Tom Gohring, Executive Director of the Sacramento Water Forum, this program discussed what needs to be done to assure truly sustainable and self-sufficient water resources for the region in the future, given projected growth trends, anticipated development and emerging water availability issues.
The Development Response was addressed by John Costa, Director, Public & Governmental Affairs, North State BIA
The Public Sector Response had a speaker panel including: David Miller, City of Folsom Community Development Dir.; Einar Maisch, Dir. of Strategic Affairs-Placer Co Water Agency and John Woodling, Executive Director- Regional Water Authority
A final panel, The Design Response included the following speakers:
