Message from ULI Sacramento Chair Timothy Denham
Our Young Leaders Group arranged for a very insightful tour of 19th & Broadway affordable housing project on October 16th.
December 19, 2024
Right before the Thanksgiving break Parker Evans, Young Leaders Group (YLG) Chair and others from YLG organized a tour of the Channel 24 entertainment venue, which is located in midtown at 24th Street & R Street. Marisa Kolokotronis led us through the inside of the building which is now framed and roofed. They anticipate opening before Summer 2025. The venue will provide a top-notch 2,100-seat venue for shows and performances. It is another example of how Sacramento is expanding and diversifying what it has to offer.
The Emerging Trends presentation on Thursday, December 5th was a hit. Thank you again to our speakers: Lee Overstreet, Greg Paquin, Allison Otto, and Craig Zarro for sharing their perspectives on the market, where we’ve been, and where we are headed. There is optimism about 2025. Also thank you Kris Kalmbach for moderating the panel discussion. It was very insightful and was great to be in the brand new May Lee Office Complex Auditorium in the River District.
At Emerging Trends we also announced that Mary Clementi, our faithful District Council Coordinator for the past 24 years, will be transitioning out of her role. She wants to be able to go on vacation for more than one week at a time. She’ll still be available for special projects and has graciously offered to help transition her replacement over the next few months.
I am pleased to announce after an extensive search and interview process we selected Megan Shanahan. Megan was formerly with Clutch, a private business services consulting firm, based out of Rancho Cordova. She worked in their marketing group and brings a great skill set that will help ULI Sacramento to communicate our story and expand our reach. Please make a point to introduce yourself when you see her next.
In closing, I’d like to wish everyone Happy Holidays! Hopefully after the frantic pace to closing out 2024 you’ll enjoy a week off to relax and recharge your batteries, or to be with family.
See you in 2025!
