If you’ve driven in the Folsom Blvd area lately, you have seen a tremendous amount of construction. November 1 our panelists talked about their specific roles in the changes that are occurring along this busy corridor and how these changes will catalyze more development. They addressed how you change an aging industrial and mixed use thoroughfare into a modern, pedestrian and bike friendly commercial corridor and what are the catalysts that spark re-design and more importantly, investment, in defunct intersections and infrastructure improvements. How have Sac State, developers, the City of Sacramento and neighborhood property owners worked together to enhance the corridor? What new developments are in the works or in the planning stages?
Opening speakers included Councilmember Jeff Harris and Sac State President Robert Nelsen. Special thanks to our panelists: Stephen Clarke, Senior Director of Market Rate & Student Housing, AMCAL, Tom Pace, Planning Director City of Sacramento, Justin Reginato, Associate Vice President of Facilities Management, Sacramento State, Tracey Schaal, Executive Director, Power Inn Alliance and moderator Nancy Park, WLI-ULI Co-Chair.
