Arts & The Built Environment: ULI All-Members Event presented by Young Leaders Group
Thursday, May 25, 2023
5:30pm – 8:00pm/Warehouse Artist Lofts (WAL) Community Room + Courtyard
We see the manifestation of art in the public and private built environment in various forms.
How can we facilitate the connection? What do real estate owners and developers need in order to be inspired and enabled to incorporate art in their developments? How can artists get involved, get commissioned, and negotitate fair pay? What role can the City and other government bodies play in incorporation of arts, not just in public places, but also in private developments? How can we prevent art from becoming a tool for displacement instead of a tool to create sense of place, community, and belonging?
Join us at The WAL, one of the most influential artist housing developments in the Sacramento region, for an unfiltered discussion between Artists, Developers, City, and Community members. We will start the program with remarks, followed by a moderated panel discussion, and conclude with an art exhibit, showcasing works of local artists available for purchase and live performance. Drinks and small bites will be served.
