Program Overview: The homeless epidemic is growing at an exponential rate. In Sacramento County alone, the 2019 homeless count found 5,570 individuals experiencing homelessness on any given night, a 19 percent increase from the last count in 2017. This rise in homelessness reflects the continued challenges with housing affordability locally, across the state and around the country.

What can we, as real estate land use professionals, do to be part of solving this crisis? In the spirit of ULI, we're bringing to Sacramento a conversation around best practices and solutions from other parts of the country on February 6th.

Following opening remarks by Sacramento's Mayor Darrell Steinberg, who also heads Governor Newsom's Statewide Commission on Homelessness, our guest speakers will discuss innovative private sector solutions and non-traditional practices that are making progress with housing strategies having a measurable impact on this crisis in their communities.
