Clean Power Cities: The Impact of California’s 2045 Climate Plan on Development in the Sacramento Region and Northern California
Friday, June 9, 2023 @ SMUD
Overview: On November 16th 2022, the State of California released the worlds first plan to achieve NetZero Carbon Pollution, with a focus on cutting air pollution by 71%, slashing greenhouse gas emissions 85%, and dropping gas consumption by 94%.
In order to achieve those goals, jurisdictions, utilities, and developers will have to drastically change policies, improve infrastructure, innovate energy and transportation technology, and alter the way buildings and communities are designed. This program will focus on what is occurring now and what will need to happen in the future in the development, public agency, and utility space to meet California’s Energy Targets. Panelists will share trends and challenges in both the policy and innovation space and how the building and utility industries are responding to these intersectional challenges.
