The events of 2020 shone a bright light on systemic racism and inequities and ushered in a new era of change and reflection.  In response, many organizations, including ULI, have begun to take stock of their own commitment to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.  As part of efforts to confront and repair systemic inequities in our industry and in our cities, many organizations and companies have developed DEI statements, committees, and initiatives.  Tangible actions that move the needle to advance DEI initiatives, however, are proving challenging for many organizations that are just now beginning to grapple with the cultural and institutional changes needed to improve equity outcomes.

As the inaugural program for ULI Sacramento’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion taskforce, this program will offer participants insight into specific recruiting, retention, programmatic and other steps that companies in our industry have taken to advance diversity, equity and inclusion within their organizations and ecosystem.  This program offers an opportunity to learn from companies that have demonstrated a sustained commitment to addressing systemic inequities and have developed actionable plans to dismantle those systems, bring about organizational culture changes, and improve diversity within their organization and our industry.

Join us for a roundtable discussion of what concrete steps organizations in our industry have taken to advance DEI initiatives. We’ll hear from:
