Repurposing and Re-Use Real Estate Projects: Silk Purse or Sow’s Ear?  How to end up with one and not the other!

Join us on Tuesday, February 13

7:30-8:00 am Registration/8:00-10:00 am Program

How Developers, Architects and City Officials are looking at their current resources and projects, and creating new projects and uses from tired and older projects which have served their purposes.

Dan Petrocchi, Principal of Allegiant Development Company Inc. will talk about their newest project, the re-use of the old Pac Bell switch building site at Stockton and T streets, converting the site into apartments, including challenges in acquisition, finance and approvals.

Jeff DeMure, AIA, and CEO of Jeffrey DeMure + Associates Architects Planners, will talk about the vision of a re-purposed project as well as the practical application of repurposing in our region within the built environment (e.g., re-use of former retail centers) and re-development of land.

Linda Budge, Mayor of Rancho Cordova, as a long-time elected official, and Owner of Geometra Planning & Permitting will give insight into the current challenges for re-use/re-purposed projects for approvals, public support and/or opposition, and desired outcomes in the context of Rancho Cordova.  Panelists will discuss  past and  current projects, as well as key decision factors and finance issues.
