Phil Angelides speaks to ULI Members about McKinley Village

Members were invited to tour and have a conversation with Phil Angelides of Riverview Capital Investments, Co-Developer of McKinley Village. Missing Middle program presentation posts

Thursday’s Housing program on Missing Middle brought together speakers to discuss this type of diverse housing option. Speakers included John Miki, Associate with Berkeley-based Opticos Design, the firm who coined the term “missing middle.” This type of housing includes duplexes, fourplexes, and bungalow courts, compatible in scale with single-family homes, that addresses the growing demand for walkable, urban living. ULI Tour held at SMUD East Campus Operations Center Deisgned to achieve “Net-Zero Energy”

ULI members recently toured the new SMUD East Campus Operations Center which is designed to achieve “Net-Zero Energy” generating all the power required for operations.  It is also seeking LEED Platinum status from the US Green Building Council, the highest rating they offer.  The new East Campus Center will allow SMUD to serve customers by example: a facility that is as environmentally friendly and cost effective as possible.
