February 26, 2013
The Honorable Doris Matsui provided opening remarks at ULI’s latest program at the Crocker Art Museum. “Sacramento’s urban core is undergoing a transformation. With a number of infill developments, transportation projects and cultural attractions completed and more planned to come online over the next few years, we are in the midst of an urban revitalization. If we continue to work together, plan for the future, and focus on growing our urban core, I believe we set the framework for a bright future for Sacramento,” said Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-06). Tim Youmans, former ULI Chair and Senior Principal of EPS, highlighted the Metro Chamber’s work to advance the region’s civic amenities, and profiled planned infrastructure and private sector projects in the urban core. The program ended with a conversation with private and public leaders from both sides of the river. Martin Tuttle, City Manager, City of West Sacramento; John Dangberg, Assistant City Manager, City of Sacramento; David Taylor, President, David S. Taylor Interests, and Stephen Jaycox, Chief Marketing Officer with Fulcrum Property.
