New Downtown Plaza Owner Todd Chapman, JMA Ventures, speaker at recent Emerging Trends forecast

Todd Chapman, President & CEO, JMA Ventures was one of the speakers at the sold out Real Estate Outlook 2013 breakfast held recently at The Sutter Club. The Emerging Trends in Real Estate report was presented, a publication from PwC and ULI, based on insights from hundreds of industry leaders. Chuck DiRocco, Director of PricewaterhouseCoopers, provided an overview of what has become the most highly regarded and widely read forecast report in the real estate industry. Three California cities were among the Top Ten Markets to Watch and ranked high in the area of demand and interest in apartments in “American Infill” locations. “People want to live in areas where walking and transit is all that’s needed.” San Francisco ranked number one, San Jose and San Diego were also in the top ten.
Following Chuck’s presentation, ULI brought together a panel of regional economic experts to the table, including: Mike Winn, President & CEO, California BIA who shared his perspective on the improving housing market, potential changes in urban vs. suburban housing, and public policy issues that could help or hinder future residential growth. Ryan Sharp, Director, Center for Strategic Economic Research highlighted economic conditions and key trends in the Sacramento region, and Todd Chapman, President & CEO, JMA Ventures gave us his thoughts regarding why JMA decided to invest in Sacramento at this time, and how they view the future of Sacramento’s urban core.
