The report analyzes trends and predictions including making sense of current volatility; global capital flows; innovation in "outer urban" and "inner suburban" development; trends in retail and transit-oriented development; and new sources of capital for real estate.

Real Estate Outlook – Emerging Trends 2016

ULI Sacramento presents the annual real estate trends and forecast event each December. The event features insights from leading experts both nationally and locally, and includes a presentation of the document Emerging Trends in Real Estate, a report by PwC and ULI. In addition, influential advisors and investors influencing major capital expenditures in the Sacramento region participate.

The 2015 ULI Emerging Trends was a success and was held at the Sutter Club on December 10, 2015. The event began with a light breakfast and networking event before launching into the ULI Emerging Trends presentation. Kathleen B Carey, Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer for the Urban Land Institute presented on overview of the 2016 Report. Immediately preceding Carey’s presentation was a discussion by panelists comprised of Sacramento real estate experts. The panelists included:

  • Port Telles, Development Director at The Cordish Company
  • John Dangberg, Assistant City Manager at the City of Sacramento
  • Randy Koss, Senior VP of Real Estate for The Sacramento Kings
  • Ben van der Meer, Staff Writer at the Sacramento Business Journal
